Rev. Niranjan Noronha was born and brought up in Bangalore, India. He has his B.Div degree from Union Biblical Seminary, Yavatmal, India, M.Th. degree from United Theological College, Bangalore, India and Th.M. degree from Candler School of Theology, Atlanta, Georgia. Niranjan gave up his engineering career at the age of 22 and responded to God’s call to be involved in the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has served as a Pastor and theological educator in India for about twenty years. His involvement with the ministry in North Georgia United Methodist Conference began in 2003 as Minster to South Asians in Atlanta. He then Pastored Snapping Shoals UMC, McDonough, before being appointed to Campbellton UMC. He also serves as a Chaplain with the Vitas Innovative Hospice in Atlanta.
Niranjan is married to Sunita, who is a great support to him in his ministry. Sunita is well qualified theologically and has a vast experience in Christian ministry. She is currently pursuing her Th.D. in Pastoral Counseling at the Emory University. Niranjan and Sunita have two daughters – Shalini and Preeti. Shalini lives and works as a school teacher in Kolkota, India and is married to Stephen Roy, who teaches at the Calcutta Bible College. Preeti is currently pursuing her Masters in Nursing at the Emory University.
Apart from teaching the Bible, which is his passion, Niranjan enjoys reading, playing the guitar, singing in the choir, playing basketball and swimming.
